Introduction:
Texas whitetail hunting is unlike anywhere else in North America! High racks, tower blinds and whitetail population set Texas apart. Our outfitter is renowned for harvesting whitetails scoring 150 B&C to 250+ B&C class Texas whitetails. They harvested the largest whitetail recorded in Texas in 2008, and the largest whitetail ever killed in Texas with a bow! That incredible buck scored 252 4/8!
Whether you’re looking to hunt a 140 B&C or a true Texas giant, look no further. This owner/outfitter’s whitetail ranches are expertly managed and have some of the paramount genetics in North America. He is known for consistently producing trophy quality whitetails and exotics. If you’re looking for the hunt of a lifetime, anytime of year, look no further!
This owner offers a personalized hunting service. He caters to individuals and large corporate groups alike with free-range and high-fence property options. A real corporate entertainment specialist!
Lodging:
Unlike most Texas outfitters, this place has a nice lodge. The lodge is about 4,500 square feet and there are 4 comfortable bedrooms and each has it's own bathroom. There is a master upstairs that has a king size bed and private bath. One room has a full size bed with a bunk bed and another room has two full size beds. Both of these have their own bathroom across the hall. The last room has two bunk beds with an attached bathroom. The lodge sleeps 7 on the bottom beds and 10 if you use the top bunks.
There is a very nice dining room with a fireplace and several nice trophies on the wall. There is a large room that has a large open bar, comfortable seating area with satellitte TV, a pool table and a shuffle board table. The lodge has wireless internet and has a land line phone if you don't have good cell service.
Groups are manageable in size to give each client the personal attention they deserve. A group of 5 can have exclusive use of the lodge. The lodge is located on the high-fenced ranch, free-range hunts are only 5-10 minutes away and the exotic ranch is 25 minutes away.
Whitetail Management:
The high-fenced ranch is managed to produce exceptional trophy whitetail. Many of these bucks are known to produce multiple kickers and drop tines. The ranch feeds high protein feed year round except during the hunting season to help promote superior antler development.
Free-range ranches are managed for the best quality herd possible. This is accomplished by protein feeding, culling genetically inferior bucks and reducing doe numbers. These practices typically mean hunters see both good numbers and good quality animals for that part of the state.
Getting There:
Most of the ranches are less than an hour outside of San Angelo. This allows clients to fly into Mathis Field Airport where they will be picked up by a member of the staff.
Travel/Hunt Schedule:
In a perfect world you will arrive around noon of your arrival day so you can get to the ranch, shoot your rifle/bow, and hunt that afternoon. You hunt the next three full days. The following day is your departure day. You can hunt that morning if needed by booking a late departure flight. The Hebbronville schedule is the same except it's five full hunting days.
Whitetail Hunting Methods:
Hunting methods include tower blinds, ground blinds and some good old fashion horn rattling. At the right time of year Texas rattling can be a fantastic experience!
Bow hunters have a very high opportunity rate due to the abundance of game. In most cases you will be hunting from tripods and double bull blinds over feeders, trails and watering holes.

Spring Turkey Hunts:
People come to Texas to hunt turkeys for several different reasons. One is for the liberal bag limit (four gobblers), another is to listen to ten to fifteen different gobblers on the roost in one mornings' sit or to watch as many as 100's of turkeys fly off the roost, and finally to harvest birds that have 8-12 inch beards.
This outfitter hunts several different ranches and will only hunt these properties one or two times all season. Clients don’t have to worry about booking early or late dates because the birds don’t have a chance to get “call” shy.
The Hunt:
Turkey hunting in Texas is a little different from other states since the terrain is very open. Instead of stalking around the property making and following calls, most hunters are set up on feeders or on trails leading from the roost to the feeders 30 minutes before light. If you prefer a more traditional hunt away from feeders, they will set you up in a spot on the ranch and call. It is not uncommon to move to two or three differents spots so that you do not have to sit in one spot.
Brush blinds are common for cover but pop-up blinds can be used. Decoys can be helpful as well. Your hunt can be guided or semi-guided; your call. The guides are expert turkey hunters who will gladly help a beginner or let an experienced hunter do their own thing. Whatever makes you happy!
If you harvest your birds early you have the option to hunt exotics for the remainder of your hunt. You would only pay the trophy fee(s) for any exotics harvested, not a daily rate. They also offer a turkey/exotic combo hunt for the following trophies: your choice of an Axis, Blackbuck, Mouflon, Corsican Sheep, or Texas Dall sheep PLUS 2 gobblers.
Hunt/Travel Schedule:
In a perfect world you would arrive around noon on your arrival day so you could get to the ranch and hunt that afternoon. You hunt the next two full days. The following day is your departure day. You can hunt that morning if needed or wanted if you schedule a late departure flight.

TRAVEL INSURANCE: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
While Antlers & Anglers does everything in our power to protect our clients from travel problems however we cannot prevent illness, deaths, or lodge closings; we live in uncertain times! The only way to guarantee your investment in your trip is through travel insurance. Most health insurance companies do not cover international medical expenses. There are many good companies available. We recommend Travelex because of their service and their company ratings. The Travelex Insurance link is available through our website at the bottom of this page.
Antlers & Anglers is similar to a travel agent in that we send your payments directly to the outfitter. Should something unforeseen happen, Antlers & Anglers will only be able to refund money that fits the lodges' refund policy! Please buy travel insurance for your protection.
Finally, travel insurance is time sensitive and must be purchased within a certain number of days of your deposit to cover preexisting conditions, lodge closings and other various issues. It is still available later but the benefits may be more limited.
GLOBAL RESCUE:
As a service to our clients, the Global Rescue link is available through our website at www.globalrescue.com . Global rescue will actually rescue you from any location, even the bottom of a cliff. They have ex special ops rescuers, jet service and Johns Hopkins doctors on call to assist you anywhere in the world.
DEPOSIT, REFUND POLICY, AND RELEASES:
- A signed liability release waiver for Antlers and Anglers Worldwide, LLC is required and must be sent with the initial deposit.
- Each lodge will have their own release for you to sign upon arrival at the lodge. If you want to participate, you will be required to sign a form.
- 50% non-refundable deposit with your signed release will be due at the time of booking to hold your spot. Your spot is not guaranteed until you deposit is received.
- The remaining balance of the trip cost will be due 90 days prior to your departure.
- Due to the financial exposure from cancelled trips, lodges are revising and tightening their policies on cancellations and refunds; in more and more instances they are not permitting refunds, re-scheduling, or substitutions. In light of these new policies and the uncertain economy, Antlers & Anglers Worldwide, LLC (AAW, LLC) strongly recommends the purchase of travel insurance. Since the cost of your trip is significant and must be paid in advance and prior to your departure, you stand to lose a considerable sum of money if you must cancel your trip or if something unforeseen happens. If the lodge will allow substitutes, you may substitute one or more persons in place of yourself or others who have confirmed reservations for your trip. Payments by individuals who are substituted for one or more persons on your trip will be credited toward payments made by such person(s) to AAW, LLC. To the extent of any such payments, AAW, LLC will issue a corresponding refund. If requested, AAW, LLC will assist you in your efforts to find a suitable substitute, although no assurance is given that one will be found.
