Introduction
Northern Quebec is the place to go to hunt the thriving Leaf River herd of Quebec/Labrador caribou. This outfitter has been in business for over 30 years and has chosen a different path than some of the other outfitters in the area. Our outfitter focuses on smaller camps with higher success rates. He only fills three prime camps at a time which leaves him several other camps empty and available. If the caribou are not around the camp where you are scheduled, he can easily send you to another camp with better options. Accommodations are comfortable, and some are even couple friendly. You will enjoy good meals and experienced guides that focus on your safety, enjoyment and success.
In contrast, some operations in northern Quebec fill all their camps with large groups, knowing the caribou won't be at all the locations. They frantically shuffle hunters in and out of the areas with caribou and want you to shoot the first bull(s) you see so they can rotate you out and another waiting hunter in. Still others guarantee you a free return hunt if you don't harvest a "mature" bull. What they don't tell you is that their definition of "mature" is any bull old enough to grow antlers...any antlers! Using this definition you will probably have an opportunity to shoot something but not what most of us would classify as mature.

One of the above mentioned camps has a small satellite camp called the VIP camp. This satellite camp sleeps 6 people in 3 rooms and is great for couples or friends for some extra privacy. This larger cabin has three bedrooms with one bathroom which has a flushing toilet, running water and a hot shower. There is a central living room where you can relax with a great view of the river. Good meals will be prepared by a cook in the private dining cabin next to your cabin. There will be three guides to see to your every need.
Other Things to do on this trip:
The primary focus of this trip is caribou, but you can take a black bear if the opportunity presents itself. They also offer fishing for brook and lake trout, as well as Atlantic salmon. If you enjoy bird hunting, you might enjoy ptarmigan hunting. There are no additional expenses for these options besides the cost of the tag or license which is minimal. However, don't count on returning home early if you harvest your animals before planned - it’s too far and expensive to fly the float plane extra trips.
