Introduction:
All hunters must have a hunter safety card if they are born after January 1, 1957. Cards from all states are valid.
With well over 100 different stand locations, this outfitter will guide you to an exciting free range hunt on over 20,000 private acres in central Kansas. Kansas is one of the top producing states for trophy whitetail in the country. The state's #2 non-typical archery buck (257 B&C) was taken with this outfitter. Prime agricultural land for corn, milo, soy beans and alfalfa makes up about 80-90 % of the hunting property. The remaining land is thin, hardwood travel corridors. A very small area is in the sand hills. There is a strict 130 B&C minimum for all harvested bucks. There is a fine for shooting smaller bucks.
Limited hunting pressure is key at this lodges success. In fact, they are so dedicated to low pressure hunting that they do not book hunts for the entire season, only selected dates and limited numer of guests. It is not uncommon for a guest to be the first to sit in a blind location even late in the season.

Bow Hunting:
Bow hunts are 2x1 semi-guided, meaning a guide will drop you off at a stand and pick you, up but he will not sit with you. Bow hunters will hunt from ladder stands, lock-ons or ground blinds. The October hunt is pre-rut where the deer are more patterned and you have a better chance at taking a nice buck. The November hunts are during the rut so all bets are off, but the big ones are on the run! No patterned bucks this time of year.
The two week rifle season in December is usually during the secondary rut. The worse the weather, the better the hunt seems to be the rule. Most of the hunting is over large agricultural fields from tower stands with the possibility of 300-400 yard shots. Gun hunters will have a guide sit with them in a blind for one of the two hunts of the day. It is possible to hunt from ladder stands, lock-ons, or ground blinds as well. They do not allow any stalk hunting.

Big bucks roam this part of Kansas! Our clients have seen them and taken them, but this is still a fair chase hunt so there is no guarantee. Antlers & Anglers Worldwide believes this outfitter is the most committed to setting up the “perfect stand” that we have witnessed. They will do everything in their power to give you a successful hunt. After all, it’s in their best interest for you to shoot a monster!
Rifle Hunting:
The two week rifle season is in December which is usually the secondary rut. During this short season, the worse the weather the better the hunting. Hunts will be over food sources from tower blinds primarily. Long shots of 300-400 yards are possible.
Hunts are 2x1 guided meaning you will have a guide sit with you on one of the two sits each day. All hunting is from tripods, tower blinds, ladder stands, lock-ons, or ground blinds. They do not allow any stalk hunting. Kansas allows baiting. The outfitter baits according to location and hunters' desires. While you cannot control the weather, there are a few things you can do to improve your ability to harvest a trophy buck:
- Practice shooting at 300-400 yards. The average hunter cannot shoot well at these distances without practice! Wind will be a factor in Kansas.
- Know your ballistics! At these distances, you will want to sight in at 200 yards and know your ballistics beyond that distance.
- Make sure you are shooting a larger caliber rifle with plenty of killing power! A 270 would be the minimum. Some of these bucks can push 300 pounds!
- If you decide that you will only go home with a certain size B&C trophy, then be prepared to go home empty handed and happy! There is nothing wrong with being picky as long as you are willing to live with the consequences.
- Stay in the field as long as you can. The more hours you put in out in the field, the better opportunity you will have to take a trophy.
- Communicate with the owner of the lodge! They need to know and want to know immediately if you are unhappy with your placement, guide, or anything else! Know that it is in their best interest for you to shoot a big buck and to be happy. They are committed to your return business.
Kansas Draw:
Kansas is a straight lottery draw for non-resident tags beginning with the 2008 season. The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks guaranteed the state legislature there would be tags for everyone. Based on this information, our outfitter feels you should get a tag. If not, you may have a 100% refund or rebook for the next year.
Rio Grande Turkey:
Great numbers of birds! 100% guaranteed opportunity. If you don't have an opportunity this outfitter will let you return free the next year! The flocks of birds can be 100-150 or more. See the pre-trip planner for more information on this great turkey hunt!
