Introduction:
For generations the sport of Georgia wingshooting and quail hunting has been a time-honored tradition. At this plantation, the only two-time Orvis Lodge of the Year award winner, they strive to uphold the storied tradition of Georgia quail hunting that has come to be known as the classic gentleman’s sport. Incredible dining, first-rate accommodations and Georgia quail hunting that is second to none is a big reason why 98% of their guests return the following year.
The lodge is located 30 minutes south of Albany, Georgia and about an hour from the Tallahassee, Florida airport. It is about a 4 hour drive from Birmingham or Atlanta.
Why this Plantation?
The total Quail Hunting Experience at this Plantation is unlike any other Quail Hunting you might have ever known and hearkens back to a more genteel era, when the Quail were your longstanding neighbors and the coveys had names and the hunting was free and unconfined, as natural as lifting your shotgun and vest from the corner rack and heading afield after a long, lingering, hot Southern breakfast.
Now, this may seem to be an easy thing to say, but it is absolutely true, due in large part to both our GEOGRAPHIC and TOPOGRAPHIC location. And of course, their uncompromising commitment to the enjoyment and fulfillment of You, dear Friends and Guests.
You see, this Plantation is uniquely located in the very heart of the Classic Plantation Belt which stretches for roughly 100 miles through southern Georgia and into north Florida. The population density of Bobwhite Quail here is unlike that of any other place on earth. This is the very Epicenter of the Quail Hunting Universe, encompassing nearly 100 contiguous or near-contiguous large plantations, most of whom are completely private and date back to the Reconstruction Era.
And this plantation sits dead center in the heart of it all.
No other publicly accessible hunting plantation is so strategically positioned. No other publicly accessible hunting plantation is so completely surrounded by the huge PRIVATE hunting estates.
And no other publicly accessible hunting plantation offers the steady stream of indigenous birds that we encounter here.
Geographically, this is simply where the Quail have always been and where they CONTINUE to be, in gratifying abundance.

Hunting:
South Georgia has been famous for its bobwhite quail hunting for more than a century. The plantation is located in the heart of plantation country on the banks of the Flint River. Hunting opportunities abound on both sides of the river which runs through the plantation. The birds – canny, quick and woods-wise bobwhite quail – lurk in unspoiled pine savannahs amid rolling hardwood uplands, meadows and understories of broom sedge and wiregrass. Expert quail hunting guides will lead you through their haunts. There, you’ll experience the joy of seeing coveys flush explosively and fly strongly.
Your quail hunting experience will be customized to the individual hunting party. The hunts can range from one to five days. With over twenty quail hunting areas, extended visits provide the opportunity to experience a variety of terrains. Specially equipped jeeps transport hunters, dogs and guides into the various areas. Morning hunts begin after breakfast and conclude around 12:00. Lunch is served around 1 pm Afternoon hunts run from 2-5 pm

Accommodations:
A handsome two-story lodge replaces the original plantation house, which, like many of its contemporaries, was destroyed by fire. The new two story lodge boasts many updated amenities that will immerse you in the traditional southern hospitality and charm for which this area is renowned.
They also offer well-appointed cabins that can accommodate small groups. Groups of 16 (single occupancy) or 25 (double occupancy) may have exclusive use of the lodge. The dining is in a class all of its own and truly sets this apart from all other Georgia wingshooting lodges.
If you prefer dining alone with your group, they offer a private dining room with doors that close. They have one room with a couple of tables for groups of four to eat together. This room connects to another dining room that has a big table for 8-10 guests.
